Another Season

Wow doesn't time fly by and here we are at the end of another football season with only the various cup finals remaining. Well, Romsey Saints have had a really eventful season which has resulted in silverware, the Solent Churches Plate Cup winners 2007 - 2008. The season started off slowly but the momentum of a successful cup run pushed Romsey up the table to finish a worthy joint 3rd. There were some great games of flowing football and other games that didn't quite match the premier league for quality but overall the season was a success. It was also great to see training on Monday nights also very successful and sometimes to successful as 22 players on half a pitch doesn't always work. Focus now turns to the summer rest and watching the European Championships and dusting off those golf clubs in the garage.



Despite a really successful season Romsey Saints are in need of your help. To play in the Solent Church league there has to be a Christian representation within the club which this year has been Richard & Simon. However, due to other commitments Simon won't be able to be part of the team next season which cuts the Christian representatives down to just Richard. Therefore, we need your help. If you would like to get involved with the team or know someone who would then please see Richard or Simon. You don't need to be a star player or the next Alex Ferguson we just need some Christians who are interested in football to join us occasionally on match days or training and other times during the year.



The football team is a fantastic opportunity for outreach as the majority of the players aren't Christians but are very happy to play in a Church league. Over the years there have been many players all who have come and enjoyed playing in a competitive but friendly team and league. Therefore, please consider whether you can get involved or please pray that the right people will be found. Many thanks.
